Originally released for the Playstation, WCW Mayhem was ported over the the Nintendo 64 following THQ's new license deal with the then WWF. EA's games were more focused on quick hits and button mashing moves like a regular fighting game, but because they were made for a platform with a lot of memory, separated themselves by featuring new environments and expansive create-a-wrestler modes. One funny result of this port was that the Nintendo 64, having less memory, had to cut aspects from the original to fit the entire game on the N64 cartridge. One such cut was the voice talents of the late great Bobby Heenan, who in the Playstation version calls matches side by side with WCW's Tony Schiavone, which ends up with Schiavone talking to, replying to, and the attention of Bobby Heenan, who is not even in the game!
